Sounds of Silence
An award-winning dining experience under the stars, 'Sounds of Silence' is a unique experiene, offering the best of the Red Centre distilled into four unforgettable hours. The evening includes transfers, entertainment, canapés, beer, wines and non-alcoholic beverages, bushtucker inspired buffet (vegetarian arrangements made with prior notice), dessert, tea, coffee, port, star talk and stargazing.
This seasonal, April to October, dining experience encapsulate the magic of fine dining in the spiritual heart of Australia. Limited to 20 people in one evening, enjoy Champagne and canapes, and four exquisite courses infused with ancient Indigenous flavours paired with Australian premium wines. The contrast between the spectacular setting and the world-class gastronomic adventure on your plate is simply awe-inspiring. Situated at the premium Sails in the Desert Hotel, a personalised breakfast experience begins with an international menu and is completed by an egg and pancake station that allows the guest to define their very own signature dish.
Ilkari continues to offer a tantalising menu of international flavours for dinner. Your three-course dinner experience includes a selection of seafood, an array of antipasto, cured meats and soups to awaken your tastebuds. An assortment of pastas, Asian favourites, roasts and a grill selection cooked-to-order abound with signature dishes enlivened by Indigenous flavours will settle your appetite. Walpa Lobby Bar
For centuries travel has been defined by the wind. Taking on the Pitjantjatjara name for wind, Walpa Lobby Bar instead provides a sense that your journey is complete – a sense of arrival. A relaxed setting for coffee and cake, casual lunch or dinner, a pre-dinner drink or night cap after a sunset tour, Walpa Lobby Bar is contemporary and welcoming. The menu features a delicious selection of classic burgers, sandwiches, garden-fresh salads and light meals.

Pira Pool Bar
For the Anangu people the moon or, pira, is a guide through the seasons. At Sails in the Desert Pira is a sun-kissed, poolside setting for casual dining or a relaxed holiday cocktail. The menu features a selection of shared plates, fresh salads, classic burgers, light meals and desserts.

Mangata takes on the Pitjantjatjara name for desert quandong, its fleshy fruit crisp and tangy and rich in vitamin C. Mangata offers the perfect start to your day, serving a delicious buffet breakfast to ready you for a day of exploring the outback. For lunch and dinner the Bistro & Bar offers a diverse range of light meals showcasing the finest Australian produce with notes of bush tucker flavours throughout. A popular dining option at Ayers Rock Resort, Outback Pioneer BBQ is a do-it-yourself BBQ with traditional Aussie charm. At Kulata, trainees of our National Indigenous Training Academy take the first step in their hospitality career. Here, trainees learn a range of skills in a supported environment to help prepare them for exciting careers in the hospitality industry.
