Anangu means 'people' in Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara. Anangu Communities include Mutitjulu, Docker River, Imanpa, and others in the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) region of central Australia.

What is the Foundation for?

The Anangu Communities Foundation promotes and supports successful participation in education, health and wellbeing, skills development, employment and sustainable enterprise development for Aṉangu communities of Mutitjulu, Docker River, Imanpa, and others in the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) region of central Australia.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, donations over $2 are fully tax deductible. If you make a donation and would like a tax receipt please email info@acfoundation.org.au indicating the amount that was donated, the organisation or individual making the donation and the date it was made or deposited into the account.

What happens to my donation?

Your donation goes into a Trust and managed by the Trustees Board of the Foundation. The Trustees work with Aboriginal corporations and relevant stakeholders to identify and fund projects that satisfy the charitable purposes of the Foundation, namely to empower Anangu to improve their wellbeing through improved health, education and greater economic and social participation.

How do you decide which projects to fund?

Applications for community project funding are submitted under strict guidelines and processes following community consultation. Based on a range of criteria, the Foundation Board then evaluates and decides which projects will receive funding.

What we fund

  • Projects that address inequity and make a demonstrable positive impact in the communities that we support
  • Projects that promote education, health and wellbeing
  • Projects that are fully supported by the communities in which they will be delivered
  • Projects that are viable and, where appropriate, have the support of other partners

How can I apply for funding?

We carefully consider all eligible applications to determine whether the proposal fits within our funding priorities. Find out how you can apply for funding
